Elektra the movie? WTF?? Are there no good ideas for movies anymore? Just because a few comic books made good movies, are we going to make them ALL movies? What next...Black Cat the movie?

Wow...it snowed in Texas...in December! Usually the big ice-overs and snows don't happen until February or January at the earliest. But a couple of days before Christmas, it snowed four or five inches, shutting down Denton and Lake Lewisville bridge, the only way to get south of here. I'm sure everyone at work made fun of me for not going to work those days, but hey, I don't drive in ice or snow that great of a distance, and haven't I been in enough car accidents this year?

We had a great Christmas with both families. I think my favorite quote of the weekend was when I pulled out my new Peyton Manning jersey that Renea gave me and John yelled out, "Does Brett know you're cheating on him?" And then there was the incident with the tequila-filled chocolate...which was only a tell-tale sign of Christmas with my family. I'm not sure how Shawn and I got home that night. Safely, anyway. The best part for me was that everyone liked the gifts I gave them. I stress nearly every year about what to get people, and it made me happy that everyone seemed happy with their gifts. I have this thing about finding perfect gifts for people. And now I have a whole year to not worry about it.

And then yay, the Packers clinched the Division Title and Peyton broke Marino's record! It's always good to end a great weekend with fabulous, fabulous football. Now if only the Eagles will lose tonight...that would be the perfect ending before I get to go back to reality.

Damn Texas weather. This going from the 70s to the 20s in 48 hours really makes me consider moving where the temperature is a little more steady. Not Minnesota, Jen, just go on ahead and dismiss that idea. I hope that this cold that is creeping up on me will attack this weekend and not next week or during Christmas.

I'm---- dreaming, of a non-color specific late December religious observance! Just like the ones I used to know! Where the tree tops glistten and children listten, to hear sleg bells ringing in the crystallized precipitation. I'm---- dreaming, of a non-color specific late December religious observance! With every late December religious observance card I write, left, independent political thinking. May all your days be merry, John and brigit, and may all your late December religious observances be non-color specific...

Hehe...I hear this song every day on my way home from work. It still makes me laugh every time I hear it. And no, those aren't spelling mistakes in listen, glisten, sleigh, and bright...but if you keep certain letters silent, that means censorship, which could progress into censoring whole words and ideas. It's funny ho-ho, not funny ha-ha.

But yes I am feeling the Christmas spirit! I have all of my Christmas cards in the mail, the tree is up, stockings are hung, and the gifts are coming in, ready to be wrapped. I'm even baking Christmas cookies! I know...it's amazing...I can bake! This past weekend even had a Christmas party in it...my work Christmas party which was a lot of fun. Shawn had a great time too. He's glad he can now put faces to names of my friends up here. On Sunday he had a historical event...Jarrett came over and he didn't hurt himself! The Stampes came over for dinner and lots of Super Mario Kart. I have a feeling that we won't be welcome in Seattle without the GameCube in tow. Ate a lot of food, drank a lot of wine (thanks again Matt for the lovely wine from Italy...we all loved it!), and watched the boys race a lot of Mario Kart.

The next couple of weekends are going to be filled with family events and more Christmas cheer! I'm hoping we can get some family out to our house for Christmas. If not, oh well, but what can I say...I'm really sick of driving, period.

Wow I used a lot of ellipses in this post. I may need therapy for abusing punctuation.

Totally forgot to give some props. I have to thank Nicole for giving me the courage to put something out there like this. I know that this really isn't that big of a deal...it's not a book deal or anything, but this is a huge step for me. Thanks, Nicole. I hope you're having fun at your new job, and we do miss you! ^_^

I've revamped the site a little. I've redone the archives (scroll down to the bottom of the left column), removed some pictures, and I've added a new blog. Many of you probably will not care about the new blog, but I don't care. I'm excited about writing it. I do hope that others will enjoy it as well, but I know that many of my current readers are not big on the subject matter. Go take a gander for yourself to see what it is all about. I can already see some of you, very specific readers, scratching and shaking your heads when you read it.

The weekend had an interesting start to it. On Friday I was called "evil" and "twisted" by 2 completely different people asking for advice on 2 completely different situations within a 2 hour time period. I guess the moral of the story is don't ask me for sugar-coated advice or to tell you what you want to hear. Apparently me and my advice are evil and twisted. But Friday was twisted anyway, as I went to a "reject" Christmas party. One of the former partners of the last wonderful job I had was having a Christmas party and open house at his new firm, and he decided to invite all of us who were fired or quit from that lovely job. It was really good to see everyone again, especially two of the partners I had not seen since I was given the boot. Everyone looked so happy and relaxed...I think their new jobs have a little something to do with it.

On Saturday I went to McKinney to see Sheri who I have not seen in ages. She told me a story about her leopard gecko that made me feel a little better about how my froggy died while I was on vacation. When she moved to her apartment in McKinney, it was a sunny day, so she thought her gecko would enjoy some natural sunshine. She put him out on her balcony, in his tank, for two hours. When she went back out to get him, there was not much of him left. He had been savagely attacked and eaten alive by freaking fire ants. Keep in mind that although he was a gecko, he was close to two feet long. I never would have thought of fire ants as North America's army ants. Poor little guy...what a horrible way to go. Saturday night, my sister randomly called me to ask me if I had ever heard of ADV Films. Hmmmm...yes, yes I have. One of her friends now works there, and she has offered to pick me up all of the free cool swag they have lying around. Lisa has one of the nicest friends ever. I hope I didn't make her ears bleed when I screeched with delight.

Sunday...not so good. I knew that my Packers were going to lose, but geeeeez that was just painful to watch. It was not Brett Favre's happy day. I wish I could have watched the Bears stomp on the Vikings...that would have made it aaaaall better. Well, sort of. This next weekend should be a goodie...firm Christmas party on Saturday (Shawn can finally meet everyone I talk about), Packers will stomp on Detroit on Sunday, and then dinner with the long, lost Stampes Sunday night. They're gracing Texas with their presence for a couple of weeks before they head back to cloud-filled Seattle.

Have a great week and go do whatever it is you do best!

Pics from Lisa's wedding and the Packers game are up in the gallery. Sad to say, I didn't take too many pictures of the wedding due to sudden battery failure. I kind of feel bad about it, especially since soooo many pictures were taken at the Packers game the following day due to fresh batteries. It doesn't seem like a lot in the gallery, but I didn't post even half of what was taken. And no...I was not the culprit taking all the pictures. I have to don that honor to Shawn and Gary, who really got the best Brett close ups ever.

This is turning out to be one of the most stress-relieving days ever! First good news of the day: my health insurance company finally paid their portions of my medical bills from my car accident. The delay came from an investigation on "pre-existing" conditions for these doctor visits. That reason wasn't good enough for my medical providers though, who have been threatening to send me to collections for awhile now. I called them all to confirm it, and everything has been paid for and I'm on the good list.

Second good news of the day: my fight with T-mobile is about to finally come to a close. Here's the story behind that. I have a Sidekick for a cell phone (if you don't know what one is, ask me and I'll show you), and the company recently came out with the Sidekick II, a thinner, more bad-ass version. T-mobile was offering its current Sidekick users a special deal to receive the new Sidekick II ahead of the game for $100 off the retail price. As the big techno dork that I am, I jumped all over it. This was back in September, and I still don't have my Sidekick II. They used an incomplete address and shipped it to my building. Something happened at the mail room (because the company name was left off the address), and I never received it. I realize that this is not totally their fault but it sure as hell isn't mine, either. We've been battling back and forth about it. They wanted me to still pay for a phone I don't have. They told me it was not their problem and they couldn't do anything. It took all of the mutant powers of Angry Shawn to finally talk to a manager and threaten to leave. This morning, they called to say that a brand new Sidekick II should arrive on my doorstep, not at work, Monday morning. I'm really glad this all worked out, because I've had the best service with T-mobile up until this point and I really didn't want to start over with another company.

So with those being taken care of, now I can stres about Christmas shopping. However, I don't think I'll have QUITE the same stress about Christmas shopping as I did last year.
