Check out my new toy! Isn't it so pretty! And fun to drive too! In case you want specifics, it's a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE, leather, sunroof, 6CD changer and Bose surround sound. Hell yeah it's bad ass.

You know you're getting old and responsible when your two most favorite bands are coming to town and you can't go because they're playing during the work week. Still bums me out.

This geek moment has been brought to you by the letter G and number 1. Sigh. No more Inuyasha. Saw the very last episode today. Like most anime, it did not have a conclusive ending, which doesn't make me very happy. I think the Japanese don't like to have endings at all, they'd rather you come up with your own ideas. And the shows that do have real endings enrage me (cough cough Escaflowne cough cough). Oh well. I guess I'll have twenty extra minutes a week now to devote some time to Full Metal Alchemist. Maybe this one will have a real ending. You may get back to your less-geekful lives.

Another weekend with a wedding shower. This one had more family, so in some ways it was a lot more fun because I knew more people. Not that the last one wasn't fun, but it was all of Lisa's friends that came, I hadn't met most of them before. When it was all over, I joined my dad and Lisa's fiance in the living room to watch college football. I'm so happy that football season has started. But I'm not happy that the Packers lost to the Bears today at their own home field. So embarrassing. Not much else happened this weekend except that I did go out Friday night for happy hour with a friend from work. It was a bad week and she made me go out and have a good time. She succeeded in that.

I do want to ask everyone to please keep my sister in your prayers. I thought that I worked for jerks at my last job, but her boss takes the cake. She isn't going to stay there at all, but she doesn't have anything to fall back on, so it's a little stressful for her and Joe, especially with the upcoming wedding and the new house.

Wow, this post feels like it is such a downer, so here is a happy note! A couple came by to look at our house today. They seemed really interested, so hopefully we will hear from them soon!

Why is it that trips home are never relaxing? I thought it would be a little easier since I flew to Houston this time and thus avoiding the really long and tiresome drive. I must say that the employees at Houston Intercontinental are far friendlier than the employees at Love Field. They also may be the most moronic, as when a bag got stuck in the baggage claim, a bunch of guys with walkie talkies rushed in to stop the device. Too bad they had no clue how to start it again. 30 minutes later after asking for help via their walkie talkies and finally, the lost baggage people, it started to spin again, spewing out our bags. Mass frustration. Due to that and the fact that the plane was delayed, we didn't get to eat until 9:30. I still had to get to the house to prepare the food for the next day. Mom and I finally finished the overnight preparations at 12:30 a.m. She lovingly woke me the next morning at 7:30 to do some last minute shopping. And after all that work, only six people came to Lisa's lingerie shower: three of her bridesmaids, my cousin, my aunt, and my grandmother. I was really disappointed, but she said it was no big deal and she had fun nonetheless. I was happy that everyone liked the food and I got to meet some more of her bridesmaids. I think Joe will like the gifts Lisa received more than Lisa will.

I didn't quite make it up for church, but despite sleeping in, I really wanted to sleep more, especially after lunch. I planned on sleeping on the plane, but that was the bumpiest flight I've ever had. It was the closest I've ever come to getting airsick.

But before I go take my nap, I want to let everyone know that I've taken another step into geekdom. I now work for a fansubbing group editing subtitles for new anime being brought over to the States for our viewing pleasure. I wish I could say that I get paid for this, but as this is a fansubbing group and not a legal entity that has purchased the license, it's all done in my spare time. Between work, school, and this, my plate is rather full, but I think it's all going to fun and worth it in the end. So go to Shinsen Subs and check out what anime goodness they have to offer. Soon my name will be in the credits on fansubs, well, at least my IRC nickname will be.

Most random spam ever. But also maybe one of the most useful.

Returned from vacation and finally got a chance to respond back to my
emails. While on our trip, ran accross my Grandmother's recipe for Corn
Muffins and wish to share it with all.

GRANDMA'S CORN MUFFINS

2 c. cornmeal
1 egg, beaten
1 (8 oz.) can cream corn
1/3 c. grated sharp cheese
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. green pepper
1/2 c. milk or buttermilk
2 tbsp. cooking oil
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Grease muffin cups and heat for 2 or 3
minutes.
Combine above ingredients and fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake in hot
oven 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Yield: 12 muffins.

Well, looks like I have a new car. In addition to the one I bought from my Dad. I put a small deposit down to hold it until the insurance company decides that my car is a total loss. So hopefully in a matter of weeks I'll be pimping around town in my new Nissan Altima. Anyone want a 1992 Oldsmobile LS 88?

WHOOOO HOOOO! WAY TO GO RAFE! I called Rafe from my last law firm and begged him to call anyone he knew at Dallas PD and harrass them. He did, and lo and behold, I have my police report. THANKS SO MUCH RAFE! I OWE YOU!

Okay, this is so incredibly frustrating. I still don't have my police report from my accident, so I still don't have that guy's insurance information. ADVICE: IF YOU GET IN AN ACCIDENT IN DALLAS, DON'T LISTEN TO THE COPS, TRADE INSURANCE INFORMATION ANYWAY. Apparently other people's lives don't seem to matter to the Dallas PD. Anyone have any connections with them that could possibly help me out?
