In case you've been keeping up, my life has been nothing but a bunch of plan Bs and promptly discarded plan Bs for the past few months. It's going to keep going until: 1) our house is sold and 2) SMU sends me a freaking decision already. Yesterday I received my fall schedule from Wesleyan, my plan B law school. Apparently your first couple of semesters are decided for you in law school. I won't get out of classes Tuesday through Thursday until after 10 p.m. I just found out today that the train doesn't run that late, so I would have to drive those days. Even if we do move closer to work and I'm not spending all my money on gas on that commute, I'll spending it all on my school commute. I love my SUV, but it may have to find a new home on a used car lot sooner than planned so I can get a more fuel efficient car. I'm not a tree-hugging hippie or anything...I'm just stingy. But a car payment may not be such a hot idea. On top of that, if I'm not getting out of class until after ten, and I'm working all day, and I'll be using all my weekend free time for homework, it sounds like I won't have a social life at all, so all my money could go to gasoline. Of course there isn't any reason to really fret about this now since I don't even know if my law school plan A has fallen through yet. But there is always that possibility, and I like to know what to expect if plan A falls. I'd be terrible in the military...I stress too much over things that haven't happened yet. I'd be running around the desert stressing out about what to do if my M16 jammed in combat. Or (the more likely scenario) what I would do if I shot one of my comrades in the foot.

I'm about to boot yahoo mail out the window. If any of you have been e-mailing me there and wondering why I haven't written you back, it's because I don't get much of my mail anymore. No, it doesn't go into my bulk mail folder, it doesn't go anywhere. It's lost in cyberspace. Or some tech monkey at yahoo is reading my e-mail and laughing at the contents. I discovered this problem about a month ago, and I thought it was with just one party, but I'm finding out that I'm not getting mail from others, either. If my web server was a tad larger, I would just use the e-mail address posted on this site. I thought for a nanosecond about going back to hotmail, but when I signed into my blogger today, I was invited to test google's new e-mail. 1 Gig of free storage? Hell yeah! Just cross off the "yahoo.com" portion of my e-mail address and add in "gmail.com" instead. Don't think I'm bashing yahoo mail. I loved yahoo mail before my bulk mail folder got filled with as much stuff as I received on hotmail and even then that was okay until I stopped receiving some e-mail. Hopefully this is just a glitch in my account and it won't spread to others.

I've been asked for a real update, so here it goes. I was hoping to postpone an update until we sold our house, but I have no idea what is going on with these potential buyers. I'll start with a few weekends ago, just because it has one memorable event. Jarrett came over to play some Double Dash, drink beer, eat dinner, you get the idea. We decided to make some smores with our chiminea. For some reason, I guess because it was the closest thing to him, Shawn doused the wood in the chiminea with fuel injector cleaner. Jarrett, without asking if anything was on the wood (and Shawn didn't tell him), stuck his hand into the chiminea with his lighter. Yes, his hand kind of caught fire. I was in the kitchen, trying to clean up when he came in with his burned hand (not too bad...minor burns) asking me to help him look up home remedies for minor burns. Nothing kills a buzz faster than that question. Shawn and Jarrett are quite normal when they aren't around each other. If you've read my Canterbury Tales of Home Improvement, you've read about this chemical reaction towards stupidity that occurs when they are in proximity to each other. I've decided to call it the baka-reaction. It's true if you think about it. Jarrett doesn't set fire to himself around anyone else, fall through anyone else's ceilings, or slice open his hand when working with anyone else on his car. On the flip side, Shawn doesn't think of painting a garage with the garage door closed, shock himself while wiring a house, or think of half the stupid crap he does without Jarrett around. Unfortunately, Jarrett is always the one who gets himself hurt. But the poor guy is horribly accident prone. I've never met anyone else who could rack himself while twirling around a foldup chair. He does have talent.

I don't remember what we did last weekend. I know we watched a lot of Naruto. I have Shawn so hooked on that show...I never thought he would get hooked on anything, especially anime, and more especially an anime in subtitles. Bad subtitles. Last Monday we went to see the Alamo. Eeees preeetty good. I was hoping to rent Kill Bill Vol. 1 and then go see Vol. 2 this weekend, but my weekend booked up rather quickly. I was roped into going to a charity auction gala for Harris Methodist HEB Hospital. The firm had a table, and Kerri talked me into going with her and Jarrett. It's a sad story why Shawn couldn't go. I won't post the reason here. It wasn't terribly exciting, but it was a nice excuse to pull out a formal from the college days and get dolled up for free food and wine for the evening. We left after the live auction and met up with Shawn and drank lots more wine. We somehow got ourselves out of bed the next morning in time to go over to Matt and Liz's for lunch. We hadn't seen them since the Superbowl, so it was great to catch up. It was even better that Liz cooked us lunch. Shawn took me over to Garland to see the strip of dirt that was going to be our future home. I can't wait for this house to be built. Our property overlooks a park and a stock fishing pond. Lake Ray Hubbard is just a few blocks away. The best part? Work will be only 20 minutes away. We then headed over to Dallas to have dinner with my family. Ever since I started working in Dallas, I haven't seen them at all because I don't have much motivation to drive anywhere, especially Dallas, on the weekends. My raise from my last job is all going to gas. So if I haven't seen anyone in awhile, it's not you, it's that I'm poor.

In grimmer news, one of my friends has been in a bad situation for a few months now and it erupted over the weekend. Hopefully by the time I'm done writing this, she will have moved into her new apartment without an incident. I almost went on a road trip last night to kick some serious ass. If I find out anything bad happened, I may still make that road trip. Please pray that nothing more happens. I don't want to go to jail for assault and battery.

Oh yeah, and I've decided to continue my original dream and go to law school. Don't ask. It's not that exciting of a story. I can't say which one, because I still haven't heard from one, so stay tuned! It seems that my life changes every few days. My mind does every few minutes.

I was invited to join a forum (don't ask how) for a fan-subbing site for One Piece, a fantabulous anime that will never come to the States. I looked at the posts for a total of 2 minutes when I found one post bashing Bush and another bashing Christianity. I wish I had the balls to start a post bashing liberalism and another one bashing non-Christians. I just think that someone should balance it a little in online forums, and I wish I had enough inner strength to make that person me.

I'll have a real post later if the good news we're expecting actually happens.
